Introduction
Andrographolide is a diterpene lactone compound extracted from the Acacia plant Andrographis, and it is one of the main effective ingredients of the traditional Chinese medicine Andrographis. Andrographolide is soluble in boiling ethanol, slightly soluble in methanol or ethanol, very slightly soluble in chloroform, and almost insoluble in water or ether. It has the effects of dispelling heat, detoxification, anti-inflammatory and relieving pain, and has special effects on bacterial and viral upper respiratory tract infections and dysentery. It is known as a natural antibiotic medicine.
Use
The main active ingredients of Andrographis paniculata are diterpene lactones, which have anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-viral infection effects. Among them, andrographolide and anhydroandrographolide have the highest content, and anhydroandrographolide is the strongest one among andrographolide compounds. Drugs made of andrographolide or dehydrated andrographolide and its derivatives, such as andrographolide tablets, andrographolide injection, and yanhuning injection, have been widely used clinically.
