How Is Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Used in Skincare?

Product description

Vitamin C magnesium phosphate is a vitamin C derivative. The derivatization of the 2-hydroxyl group into phosphate can improve the stability of vitamin C. The formed derivative can regenerate vitamin C after being hydrolyzed by magnesium phosphate widely present in the body. Therefore, it has become the main component of feed additives, food fortifiers and advanced cosmetic whitening, and is a valuable fine chemical.

What Makes MAP Better Than Other Forms Of Vitamin C?

MAP is stable: unlike pure vitamin C, it doesn't throw a tantrum and stop working when it's exposed to light and air. It'll go bad, too, eventually (that's the fate of all things) but it'll last you a lot longer.

MAP works well in small doses: as little as 5% is enough to fade dark spots .

MAP is gentler: While pure Vitamin C has a low, acidic ph that can irritate skin, MAP has a neutral ph that causes no problems at all (this is great news for sensitive skin!).

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a water-soluble, non-irritating, stable derivative of Vitamin C. It has the same potential as vitamin C to boost skin collagen synthesis but is effective in significantly lower concentrations, and can be used at concentrations as low as 10% to suppress melanin formation (in skin-whitening solutions). It is also important to note that Magnesuim Ascorbyl Phosphate may be better choice than Vitamin C for people with sensitive skin and those wishing to avoid any exfoliating effects since many Vitamin C formulas are highly acidic (and therefore produce exfoliating effects).

Used in Cosmetic Fileds:

1. MAP can be used in a wide range of skin care and beauty products including face creams, face masks, and foundation.

2. In skin care products, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) is also used for UV protection and repair, collagen production, skin lightening and brightening, and as an anti-inflammatory.

3. It is also a potent antioxidant.

4. It is considered an excellent non-irritating skin whitening agent that inhibits skin cells to produce melanin and lightens age spots, and is a great alternative to Quinone.

5. Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a also a potent anti-oxidant that can protect skin from oxidation and UV rays, and is used as an anti-inflammatory (source)
