Andrographolide is a diterpene lactone compound extracted from Andrographis paniculata in the Acanthaceae family. It is one of the main active ingredients of the traditional Chinese medicine Andrographis paniculata. The appearance is white square prism or flaky crystals, odorless and bitter in taste. Andrographolide is soluble in boiling ethanol, slightly soluble in methanol or ethanol, very slightly soluble in chloroform, and almost insoluble in water or ether.
