Effect

Most arbutin on the market is β-arbutin, which is only produced by a few manufacturers, and the price is about 8 times that of the former. But the whitening effect is more than 15 times the former.
The biggest difference in physical properties between the two is the optical rotation: α-arbutin is about 180 degrees, while β-arbutin is about -60.
