Experimental comparison

1. In vitro test, the efficacy is 10 times that of β-arbutin

Abdominal skin samples from a 35-year-old woman were selected for in vitro testing. The samples were treated with arbutin products of different concentrations. After 6 days, the control group was compared with the treated samples.

The test results show that 0.4% α-arbutin is more effective than 2%, 3% and 4% β-arbutin, with a difference of up to 10 times!

2. Compared with β-arbutin, it has stronger binding affinity to the active site of tyrosinase

By calculating the structures and ESP (electrostatic potential) of α-arbutin, β-arbutin and tyrosine (substrates of tyrosinase), it can be seen that the ESP potential of α-arbutin is similar to that of tyrosine.
