Menthone glyceryl acetal is a mild synthetic cooling active substance produced by the condensation reaction of natural L-menthone and glycerol. At room temperature, it is mostly a colorless, transparent, viscous oily liquid with almost no strong minty odor. It is chemically very stable, not easily volatile or oxidized, and has excellent storage and formulation compatibility. The most notable characteristic of this ingredient is its gentle and long-lasting cooling sensation, completely lacking the sharp, pungent, and instantaneous cooling sensation of ordinary menthol. When applied to the skin, mouth, and mucous membranes, it is gentle and skin-friendly, without causing stinging, redness, numbness, or excessive coldness. The cooling sensation is released slowly and evenly, lasting longer and providing a comfortable and natural sensation. Menthone glycerol ketal has moderate solubility and can blend well with polyols, oils, and various fragrance surfactants.
