Tocopherol acetate is the esterification product of tocopherol (vitamin E) and acetic acid. It is not an estrogen, but a fat-soluble vitamin with antioxidant properties and relatively stable performance. It is a light yellow or yellow transparent viscous liquid, almost odorless, and will become darker when exposed to light. Vitamin E contains multiple functions and can promote many aspects of human health. It is widely used in various personal care and hygiene products. Tocopherol acetate is not only a skin regulator, but also an antioxidant. When used in cosmetic ingredients, it has protective effects such as preventing sun and ultraviolet rays from damaging the skin. In addition, it can be taken in the form of vitamin supplements.
Tocopherol acetate has significant anti-oxidation, elimination of free radicals in the body, prevention of cancer, and enhancement of body immunity. It is an indispensable vitamin in human life activities. However, because the six-position hydroxyl group on the vitamin E chroman ring is easily oxidized to produce the corresponding quinone, vitamin E quinone no longer has the biological activity of vitamin E. Vitamin E esterification modification can prevent the oxidation of vitamin E, improve the stability of vitamin E products, and at the same time solve the problem of poor water solubility and improve its surface activity.
Tocopherol acetate is a chemical substance, soluble in chloroform, ether, acetone and vegetable oil, soluble in alcohol, but insoluble in water. It has good heat resistance and can be oxidized when exposed to light, and the color becomes darker. Tocopherol acetate is a derivative of vitamin E. It is often used as an antioxidant in cosmetics and has a good antioxidant effect.
Extraction methodUse C1~C4 low-carbon alcohols or (5%~15%) C3-C5 low-carbon ketones as extractants to extract from vegetable oils. For example, add 50mL methanol to 100g crude palm oil, shake and extract at 45℃, freeze the methanol phase overnight at -10~-20℃, filter to remove the precipitated sterols and fatty acid crystals, and distill the mother liquor to remove the methanol to obtain vitamin E Concentrated, the content is 11%.
