Undecylenoylphenylalanine, also known as acylbenzamine, is a melanin stimulating hormone (α-MSH) receptor antagonist. It acts on the biochemical reactions at various stages of melanin formation caused by α-MSH, intercepts melanin production signals, controls the combination of α-MSH (melanocyte stimulating hormone) and melanin production factors, effectively inhibits the activity of tyrosinase, and thus inhibits the formation of melanin.
