What is Fenugreek Seed Extract?

Chemical composition
The seeds contain alkaloids such as gentianine, papain, choline, and fenugreek. The sapogenins are mainly diosgenin, yamgenin, and a small amount of sapogenin and a trace amount of tiguangenin. Vitexin, vitexin-7-glucoside, arabinoside of orientin or isoorientin, glucose rhamnosyl disaccharide of flavonoids, quercetin, luteolin and other flavonoids have also been isolated. The general composition of the seeds is: 10.30% water, 3.15% ash, 7.61% fat, 16.97% total protein, 3.68% total sugar, 6.4% cellulose, and 11.98% hemicellulose. The fat oil contains 92.9% solid fatty acids, 1.5% volatile fatty acids, 0.9% unsaponifiable components, 6.25% lecithin, and 0.5% phytosterols. The fatty acids are mainly linoleic acid and palmitic acid, with a small amount of oleic acid and linolenic acid. The protein is 55% nucleoprotein. The total sugar is mainly galactose and mannan, and also contains vitamin B1-320 micrograms. The leaves contain about 43 mg of ascorbic acid. The whole plant is also rich in calcium, iron, carotene, etc.
