Product Description

Polybutene is a liquid copolymerized primarily of isobutylene and a small amount of n-butene. Its structure consists almost entirely of long chains and includes a single double bond. There is no strict distinction between polybutene and low-molecular-weight polyisobutylene in their use, as their preparation methods are essentially the same, making strict differentiation difficult. However, polybutene is made from mixed butenes and structurally is a copolymer of isobutylene and n-butene. It has a lower molecular weight and is a viscous liquid, primarily used as a synthetic lubricant. Low-molecular-weight polyisobutylene, on the other hand, is made from high-purity isobutylene and structurally is a homopolymer of isobutylene. It is semi-solid and generally has a higher molecular weight than polybutene, primarily used as a thickener. Low-molecular-weight polybutene, due to its absence of waxy substances, possesses excellent electrical properties and is widely used as an electrical insulating oil. Because it completely decomposes at around 300℃ without leaving residue, it can be used as a base component in high-temperature, carbon-free lubricating oils. It is widely used in two-stroke engine oils, electrical insulating oils, lubricants, coolants, and cylinder oils for ultra-high-pressure compressors in the production of low-density polyethylene.

It exhibits good corrosion resistance to acids, alkalis, salt solutions, and various organic solvents. Stress cracking only occurs under the action of strong oxidizing agents such as concentrated sulfuric acid and fuming nitric acid, making it suitable for equipment in chemical and medical fields.

5. High Hygiene and Safety:

Non-toxic, tasteless, and odorless, it is difficult for microorganisms to grow, meeting hygiene standards for drinking water transportation and food and pharmaceutical packaging. It can be used in infant bottles, medical devices, etc. 6. Lightweight and Flexible: Low density and light weight facilitate handling and installation; good flexibility and a small minimum bending radius allow for easy pipe laying in confined spaces or complex terrain, reducing the need for bends and lowering construction costs.

7. Energy Saving and Environmentally Friendly:

When used in underfloor heating systems, its low thermal conductivity and excellent insulation performance can save approximately 30% of energy; the material is recyclable, and its combustion products are non-corrosive and non-toxic, meeting environmental protection requirements.

8. Easy to Process and Connect:

Integrated connections can be achieved through methods such as heat fusion, ensuring good sealing at the joints and preventing leakage; excellent processing performance allows for the production of various shapes of products such as pipes, films, and containers.

1. Building Piping

  • Hot and Cold Water Supply Pipes: Used in hot and cold water supply systems for residential and commercial buildings. Temperature range: -30℃ to 95℃. Stable long-term performance, non-toxic and harmless, meeting drinking water hygiene standards.
  • Underfloor Heating Pipes: The preferred material for high-end underfloor heating systems. Excellent low-temperature impact resistance, flexibility, and heat creep resistance. Can withstand long-term thermal cycling, with a service life of 50-100 years.
  • Industrial Pipes: Suitable for transporting corrosive media in chemical, petroleum, and power industries. Resistant to acids, alkalis, and salt spray, with outstanding resistance to environmental stress cracking.

2. Packaging

  • Food Packaging: Used to make retort pouches, cling film, easy-tear films, etc. Excellent transparency, heat resistance, oil resistance, and sealing properties, suitable for high-temperature sterilization packaging and food preservation.
  • Pharmaceutical Packaging: Used for packaging pharmaceuticals and medical devices, meeting hygiene, safety, and easy-opening requirements, ensuring drug quality.
  • Specialty Packaging: Blended with polyethylene and polypropylene to produce easy-peel, highly airtight packaging films for packaging fertilizers, chemicals, etc.

  • Disposable Medical Devices: Used in the production of disposable syringes, infusion tubing, dialysis tubing, etc. It has good biocompatibility, is non-toxic and non-irritating, ensuring medical safety.

  • Fuel Lines: Used in automotive fuel systems. It is oil-resistant and chemically resistant, ensuring safe fuel delivery.

5. Hot Melt Adhesives

  • As a major component of hot melt adhesives, it is used in footwear, packaging, industrial bonding, etc. It has high bonding strength, low-temperature flexibility, and rapid curing characteristics, suitable for spray adhesive processes.

6. Cable Insulation

  • Used as the insulation layer for wires and cables. It has good dielectric properties, is voltage-resistant and aging-resistant, ensuring safe cable operation.
