Main Components and Chemical Structure
- Core Active Components: The main chemical components of Grifola frondosa extract are β-1,3-D-glucan and β-1,6-D-glucan with C6 branches, containing multiple active components such as D-component, MD, and X.
- Maitake D-fraction: This is a proteoglycan complex extracted from the fruiting body of Grifola frondosa. The polysaccharide to protein ratio is 7:3, with an average molecular weight of approximately 1 million. Its chemical structure and bioactivity differ from extracts from other mushrooms such as shiitake and Ganoderma lucidum.

Preparation Methods
1. Aqueous Extract
The raw medicinal material is chopped and added to an extraction tank (6 m³) with 400 kg of raw material. For the first extraction, 12 times the amount of water is added, and the mixture is heated under reflux for 1 hour. For the second extraction, 8 times the amount of water is added, and the mixture is heated under reflux for 1 hour. The extract is filtered through a pipeline filter and then centrifuged using a two-stage centrifuge to obtain the centrifuged liquid. The centrifuged liquid is concentrated under reduced pressure to a thick paste, 95% ethanol is added, and the mixture is filtered. The precipitate is then vacuum dried to obtain the final product. The content of this product, determined by the phenol-sulfuric acid method, is approximately 20%.
2. Alkaline Extract
The raw medicinal material is chopped and added to a 1N NaOH solution. The mixture is extracted three times at 70℃ with stirring, each time for 2 hours. The extracts are combined, centrifuged, and the centrifuged liquid is concentrated under reduced pressure to a thick paste. 95% ethanol is added to precipitate the precipitate, which is then centrifuged again. The precipitate is washed with ethanol and vacuum dried to obtain the final product. The content of this product, determined by the phenol-sulfuric acid method, is 16%–18%.
