What is seawater pearl powder?
Seawater pearl powder is a powder made from seawater pearls. It is considered a classic treasure in the beauty and wellness industry, and seawater pearls are particularly valuable due to their superior quality and rarity.

Unlike freshwater pearls, seawater pearls (such as the famous South Pearls) are cultivated using a unique method: a small, round nucleus ground from shell is placed in the oyster beforehand. The nacre is only thinly coated around this nucleus, approximately 0.1 to 0.3 mm thick, and typically only takes about a year to grow. In contrast, freshwater pearls are made entirely of nacre, lacking a nucleus, and have a longer growth cycle, often taking four to five years. Because of this "nucleus," pure pearl powder requires the laborious removal of the nucleus, making it more complex and costly to produce.
Scientific research has revealed that seawater pearl powder is highly nutritious, containing nineteen amino acids, numerous minerals, pearl protein, bio-taurine, and trace elements. These ingredients are beneficial to both the body and the skin: they can calm the mind, clear heat, protect the liver, nourish the stomach, and provide calcium and trace elements. Furthermore, in skincare, they can brighten the complexion, increase elasticity, reduce spots and wrinkles, and slow the aging process. Furthermore, they help regulate the body's internal metabolism and boost immunity, making them a natural health supplement that works from the inside out.

Pearl Powder Classification
Water Source Classification
1. Freshwater Pearl Powder
2. Seawater Pearl Powder
Processing Technology Classification
1. Natural Pearl Powder: This is produced using physical methods (such as ball milling, airflow pulverization, and physical ultrafine powder technology). Its characteristic is that no other substances are added or destroyed, preserving all the nutrients of the pearl.
2. Chemically Produced Pearl Powder: This is primarily produced using enzymatic or acid hydrolysis methods. It is water-soluble and suitable for those with gastric acid deficiency. However, its disadvantage is that its nutritional content is incomplete, resulting in only a few benefits, making it difficult to use externally.

The Difference Between Saltwater and Freshwater Pearls
Although both saltwater and freshwater pearls are cultured, their cultivation methods and finished product structures differ significantly. Saltwater pearls are generally cultured using a nucleus-based technique, implanting a nucleus made of shell or bone within the mother oyster. The nacre forms only a thin layer on the surface, typically between 0.3 and 0.8 mm thick. Freshwater pearls, on the other hand, are cultured using a nucleus-free technique. The entire pearl is composed entirely of nacre, without an external nucleus.
In terms of composition, the nacre of saltwater and freshwater pearls is very similar in chemical composition, with no fundamental differences. Studies have shown that freshwater pearls have higher levels of 13 amino acids than saltwater pearls, slightly lower levels of another three, and roughly the same level of two, resulting in highly similar overall compositions.
Precisely due to these structural differences, the cost and difficulty of processing the two into pearl powder differ significantly. Saltwater pearls, due to their larger nuclei, require a complex process to remove the nucleus to obtain pure pearl powder, resulting in extremely high production costs. In contrast, freshwater pearls are entirely nacreous and do not need to be removed after grinding. They are pure in composition and have low processing costs, making them more cost-effective and a more practical and feasible choice.
What are the skin benefits?
Whitening:
The trace elements in pearls can increase the number and activity of SOD. Selenium is the main substance for the production of glutathione peroxidase, which, like SOD, scavenges free radicals and improves skin tone.
Oil Control:
Nano-pearl powder has extremely fine particles, resulting in a large surface area and excellent adsorption capacity, absorbing excess oil. It also has an astringent effect, controlling oil secretion and leaving the skin dry and clean.

Acne Treatment:
It can clear heat and detoxify, cleanse the skin, control oil levels, and promote the regeneration of damaged tissue.
Blackhead Removal:
Pearl powder has excellent deep-pore cleansing capabilities and a strong adsorption capacity, effectively "drawing" out dead skin cells and dirt deep within pores.
Skin Repair:
It can inhibit the regeneration of inflammatory cells, promote collagen cell growth, and promote cell regeneration.
