Wild Chrysanthemum Extract

1. Antibacterial effect
Wild chrysanthemum has a wide antibacterial spectrum. Its decoction and ethanol extract have inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus aureus, tuberculosis, diphtheria, Escherichia coli, hemolytic streptococci, various types of Shigella dysenteriae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus, Vibrio cholerae and BCG in vitro tests. Wild chrysanthemum granules (Elsholtzia, Patchouli, wild chrysanthemum, Artemisia annua) have obvious inhibitory effects on common bacteria that cause respiratory diseases, except for Staphylococcus aureus, which has a low inhibitory effect on other bacteria and enterobacteria.
2. Antiviral effect
Wild chrysanthemum decoction and extract have inhibitory effects on influenza virus in vitro. 1:80 can delay the pathological changes of cells (primary monolayer epithelial cells of human embryonic kidney) infected with orphan virus ECHO11. It also has a certain inhibitory effect on herpes virus. Wild chrysanthemum granules also have an inhibitory effect on the proliferation of Poliv and VSV viruses.
3. Effect on immune function
The wild chrysanthemum decoction has a cooling effect on the body temperature of febrile rabbits and can enhance the phagocytic function of phagocytes. In vitro, it can promote the phagocytosis of Staphylococcus aureus by human leukocytes, and intravenous injection can significantly improve the phagocytic function of mouse peritoneal macrophages.
4. Effect on platelet aggregation
The wild chrysanthemum decoction was intravenously injected into rats, which had a significant inhibitory effect on ADP-induced platelet aggregation and rabbit collagen-induced platelet aggregation.
5. Antihypertensive effect
The wild chrysanthemum alcohol extract and preparations have a significant effect on lowering blood pressure in animals such as anesthetized dogs, cats and rats when taken orally, injected or intestinal at different doses. The effect on dogs with renal hypertension is slow and lasting. However, its water extract has basically no antihypertensive effect. Its antihypertensive mechanism is related to its anti-adrenaline and peripheral vascular dilation and vasomotor inhibition.
6. Effects on cardiovascular system
Wild chrysanthemum preparations can affect the heart while lowering blood pressure. Intraperitoneal injection of 52g/kg can significantly slow down the heartbeat of awake rats, prolong the P-R and Q-T intervals of the electrocardiogram, and widen and blunt the T wave. It also significantly increased the coronary blood flow of anesthetized cats and isolated rabbit hearts, significantly decreased the heart rate, and significantly reduced myocardial oxygen consumption. Intravenous injection of this product can increase the coronary flow of animals, reduce resistance, slow the heart rate, reduce total peripheral resistance, and increase cardiac transfusion. It has a significant protective effect on experimental myocardial ischemia or myocardial infarction.
7. Hepatoprotective effect
Wild chrysanthemum injection can promote hepatocyte proliferation when applied to human L02 hepatocytes in vitro for 40h; the alcohol extract can inhibit the peroxide of isolated rat liver tissue, increase the activity of glutathione peroxidase in mouse serum, scavenge oxygen free radicals, and has a liver-protective function. Continuous oral administration of 125, 250, and 500 mg/kg TFC for 4 days can reduce the increase in serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (ASR) values ​​in mice with acute liver injury induced by intraperitoneal injection of CCl4, reduce the MDA content in liver homogenate, enhance the activity of SOD, reduce the expression of TNF-α, and alleviate the pathological damage of CCl4 to liver tissue, thus having a protective effect on the liver.
