Salicylic acid Powder, first extracted from willow bark, is an important active ingredient. Its chemical formula is C₇H₆O₃, and it appears as a white powder with a melting point of 158–161℃. It is a fat-soluble organic acid, naturally occurring in willow bark, white pearl leaves, and sweet birch.
In the pharmaceutical field, salicylic acid is a raw material for the preparation of aspirin. Aspirin, as an acetylated derivative of salicylic acid, is mainly used for anti-inflammatory and analgesic purposes. In addition, a 2.5% alcoholic solution of salicylic acid (salicylic acid glutamate) is commonly used as a topical medication for treating athlete's foot and tinea pedis, and can also be formulated into ointments.

Product Function
Salicylic Acid powder has antibacterial and antifungal effects, which vary with the concentration.
Low concentration (1% to 2%) has antipruritic and keratinization effects, can restore the stratum corneum of the skin to normal, and can reduce cell infiltration in the dermis, so that the pathological state gradually disappears.
Concentrations of 3% to 6% have an antifungal effect and can inhibit or kill fungi on the superficial skin.
Higher concentration (6%-10%) has keratolytic effect, which can make the epidermis loose and easily fall off.
High concentrations of more than 20% are corrosive. Topical application still has the effect of inhibiting the secretion of sweat glands.
Application
1. Fluorescent indicator, complex indicator.
2. Used as an anti-scorch agent in the rubber industry and in the production of ultraviolet absorbers and foaming agents.
3. Used as a coordination indicator and masking agent. Color developer and preservative for titanium, zirconium, and tungsten plasma.
4. As an additive in some weakly acidic electrolytes, it can also be used as a complexing agent for electroplating or electroless plating.
5. Cosmetic preservatives. Mainly used in toilet water, prickly heat water, quinine lotion and other cosmetics. In addition to antiseptic and bactericidal effects, it also has the functions of dispelling sweat, relieving itching and swelling, relieving pain and inflammation.
6. As a raw material in the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to prepare aspirin, sodium salicylate, salicylamide, Zhitongling, phenyl salicylate, schistosomiasis-67 and other drugs. Usage and dosage
1. Antipruritic: 2% ethanol solution.
2. Psoriasis: 2% ointment, as a cutin promoter.
3. Tinea capitis, tinea corporis, hands, tinea pedis, tinea versicolor, tinea versicolor and other superficial fungal diseases: use 3% to 6% of this product and mix with benzoic acid to form an ethanol solution or ointment.
