This product exists in corydalis of poppy family, tuber of volute corydalis C, yellow bark tree of rutaceae.Bark and other plants, is an isoquinoline alkaloid.It has the effect of analgesia and hypnosis.

Tetrahydropalmatine has weaker analgesic effect than pethidine and morphine, but less addictive and stronger than general antipyretic and analgesic drugs. It is better for chronic persistent dull pain, but less effective for pain relief after trauma or surgery. Tetrahydropalmatine, the main active substance of corydalis, induces hypotension and bradycardia in rats by antagonizing dopamine D2 receptors in the striatum. It has significant curative effect on pain caused by gastrointestinal system and hepatobiliary system, and can also relieve labor pains, headache, concussion headache and so on. 1. Analgesic and anesthetic effects

The analgesic effect of this product is related to the activity of central dopamine receptor. L-tetrahydropalmatine can enhance the analgesic intensity and prolong the analgesic effect of electroacupuncture. Tetrahydropalmatine may have analgesic effects by blocking D1 dopamine receptors and increasing the content of leucine enkephalin in the striatum.

2. Protective effect on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury

L-THP has a protective effect on neurons during ischemic brain injury, and it has been found that L-THP reduces the expression of ICAM-1 in endothelial cells during cerebral ischemia reperfusion, and L-THP significantly reduces the neuronal apoptosis induced by ischemia reperfusion injury, which is related to its inhibition of calcium ion accumulation.
